Absolute domination.

And lets first give credit where credit is due:

killer shooting from el cap-i-tain. but id be remiss if i didnt mention Mikal Bridges

Lock me up and put me in jail if I forgot to mention him. An arrestable offense ! This guy has been playing like an 2A all star. Flourishing in mike browns system - and stepping up for the team this year while OG has been sidelined and Kat has been playing pussy ball.

(the link share isnt working so heres a screen shot)

now i have no idea what this means. so i asked grok for translation:

  • Mikal Bridges' Defensive Playmaking metric, which tracks steals, deflections, and loose balls per 36 minutes per BBall Index, jumped from 2.55 in 2024 to 4.72 in 2025—the largest year-over-year increase among NBA wings—reviving his elite 2019-2020 Suns form.

  • The graph visualizes Bridges' blue dots outperforming gray league averages in early and current seasons, with a notable dip during his 2023-2024 Nets stint amid offensive load and team struggles.

  • Early 2025 replies link the rebound to Knicks coaching shift from Tom Thibodeau's point-of-attack focus to more versatile off-ball roles under a hypothetical "Brown," aligning with Bridges' All-Defensive potential post-2024 trade.

Thank you Grok. So here's my analysis of Groks' analysis: I see the words "elite". and I see massive increase in defensive output.

And that coincides with the eye test from the Bridges. Fascinating that this is happening after the change from "defensive man" Thibs to Brown.. Seems like the team is playing more freely. Especially confidently -- which I'm going to attribute to the deeper rotations leading to fresher legs. Because in this instance, correlation may just mean causation. Yahoo!

So yes we throw flowers to Brunson, but I think equal share of claps, ass slaps and flowers go to Mikal.

To the recap:

We easily handled those new jersey nets. Showed up and controlled them for all 48 minutes. Professional style beat down. The Knicks have now won the last 12 games against the Nets. And all those picks for Bridges? That haul Brooklyn received and are working with, alongside the 5 picks they were cooking with this last summer... Well only 1 - Egor is seeing the court. I think the rest are down in the G league. I dont know what theyre cooking with. But I believe its not butter !!! :)

From the 5 picks we sent them - 2 have been used : Nolan Traore and Ben Saraf. Nolan is averaging 1.8 points per game. Ben is injured.

Both look to be locks for the G League. Instant contributors for their long island team.

....yikes

Cue the "fuck them picks" meme.

there we go.

Not looking good if youre on the other side of the bridge. Brooklyn and George Washington. whatever.

Next game was in Charlotte against the hornets. -Brunson went off for 33. All in all it was high energy, high efficiency as the boys shot 50% from three.

We then crushed the Bucks at home. a little revenge pudding. Brunson put up 37 points. Meanwhile Josh Hart is heating up; playing well, and shooting efficiently. He's back to putting massive numbers up across the board.. playing like a man who recently got robbed and desperately needs that 500k from the NBA Cup. He was in thanksgiving mode "stuffing" his stat sheet. Yahhhooo!

Last game was at home against the Raptors. The previous top seed in the Atlantic division could not crack it at MSG. Knicks handled them with ease. Shout out Quickley - still love you. But it was a clean home win to close out a pretty week.

All in all - 0 drama from the week. 0 soul crushing loses. We got to witness a gritty Knicks team who kept their foot on the gas pedal and executed.

The Good:

Everything. The starters. The bench. The coaching. My Thanksgiving turkey.

The Bad:

I burned my cornbread pudding!

The Vibe:

If Kat can continue playing smart and efficiently - i'll be a happy camper. I'll get to that post soon enough, but either he regressing, or law of averages are waiting to catch up to him -- because he started the season with career lows in nearly every statistic. So I'm hoping this is the beginning of sustainable dominance from the big Dominican.

Happy Thanksgiving ya turkeys!
