2 days?!

One post?!

This week we got two posts!

The baby has settled into somewhat of a routine- so dada can confidently set aside a few minutes to clear his mind grapes. Not sexual.

Anyways I hope the last blog didnt convey thunderstorms and fatigue - there is way more to the puzzle than just lack of sleep. We've battled first sickness, fever, holidays. He's a croupy baby (which if you dont know what that is, i highly do not recommend) remote work, consultant stuff for some offhand project. And of course getting back on stage.

A lot to the rollercoaster of life. Which is really all you can ask for. A solid distraction from the shit show going on outside: shit wars, AI, inflation, never owning a home. Or the Knicks still losing to the Pacers.

Having a child proves much to be true of what they say. Lack of sleep. Lots of diapers. Bottle washes and milk throw up all over you. Visceral fat. So much fat so much stress.

Yet most easily put: the highs always outweigh any lows.

I've got a few more minutes before baby is up from his morning nap so I'm going to speed us up to date with knicks recaps.

I think the last was around Christmas.

Right before the NBA CUP...And breaking news - they won!

Jordan Clarkson put on a show, and we beat the Spurs.

They did it!

World (terrorist) Champs! sponsored by Emirates

There was a little hangover over that preceded. Which is totally fine. We won the XMAS matchup against I cant even remember who, but thats all that matters as we carry onto the New Years...

And who are we kidding. I have a child, I have notime for any nonsense or shenanigans. I had my assistant, Ay Eye, write up a comprehensive recap dating Jan 1st - to today, Feb 13th.

Lets give it a whirl:

🗓️ January 2026 — Rough Start, Then a Surge

🔻 Early January Struggles

  • The Knicks stumbled out of the gate in January: losses to teams like the Atlanta Hawks (111-99) and Philadelphia 76ers (130-119) right after New Year’s. Their defense struggled, and they dropped several games in the first week of the month.

  • On January 6, they suffered a lopsided loss to the Detroit Pistons (121-90), with Cade Cunningham leading the way against them.

🔁 Mid-January Turning Point

  • After a tough start, New York found its rhythm starting around January 7, picking up a win versus the LA Clippers (123-111).

  • They hit their stride in the back half of the month with a historic 120-66 blowout of the Brooklyn Nets on January 21 — the most lopsided win in franchise history.

  • Following that, the Knicks went on a run including wins vs. Philadelphia, Sacramento, Toronto, and Portland, trending toward a much stronger mid-season form.

📉 Other January Results

  • January 19: Loss to the Dallas Mavericks (114-97) at Madison Square Garden as part of uneven play mid-month.

By the end of January, the Knicks had rebounded from early setbacks and flipped their record into solid territory.

📊 February 2026 — Momentum & Milestones

🔥 Strong Wins

  • Feb 1: Beat the LA Lakers 112-100 — the start of a multi-game win streak.

  • Feb 3: Dominated the Washington Wizards 132-101.

  • Feb 4: Thrilling double-OT win over the Denver Nuggets, 134-127.

These results pushed New York’s record up and had them locked in a strong position in the Eastern Conference around mid-February.

🏆 Big Statement Victories

  • Feb 8: The Knicks handed the Boston Celtics a 111-89 loss on the road, snapping Boston’s 5-game win streak. Jalen Brunson led the way with 31 points and 8 assists.

  • Feb 11-12: New York absolutely crushed the Philadelphia 76ers 138-89 — a 49-point beatdown highlighted by Jose Alvarado’s historic 8 three-pointer night and Mikal Bridges and KAT contributing big games.

📉 Upset Loss

  • Feb 10: Surprisingly, the Knicks lost 137-134 in OT to the low-standing Indiana Pacers, a tough result amid an otherwise strong stretch.

🧠 Team Narrative & Trends (Jan–Feb)

📈 Record & Standings

  • Over this span the Knicks turned around a slow start and established themselves as one of the better teams in the East. Around Feb 8 they sat around 34-19.

⭐ Key Players

  • Jalen Brunson remained the offensive leader, capable of big scoring nights and playmaking.

  • Jose Alvarado emerged as a lethal 3-point threat, particularly in the win over Philly.

  • Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns provided balance with secondary scoring and efficiency in big wins.

🏀 Role & Roster Moves

  • As of Feb 12, the Knicks signed Jeremy Sochan to bolster depth, particularly with injuries affecting OG Anunoby and others.

📍 Summary (1/1–2/13/26)

Early Jan: Rough offensive and defensive performances → multiple losses. Mid-Jan: Historic win vs. Nets and a run of consecutive wins. Early Feb: A string of solid wins, including big road victories and a double-OT thriller. Feb 8–12: Statement wins against Boston and Philly show elite potential. Feb 10: Overtime loss to Indiana is a bump but doesn’t derail overall strong play.

heh, wow. Aye Eye. Not too bad at all. Quite comphrensible indeed.

Look I know. Sac- religious .... but damn it how can you argue cold hard results like this. Looks pretty good AND just saved me some serious time.

If ya cant beat em' , join em! Join the revolution! Fuck the clean water and rainforests .

And lets cut the shit and stop pretending any of us have integrity anymore.

Anyways my "human" touch up on the recap:

MUDDY THE WATERS:

The losing streak was tough - and it got dicey at times. Especially leading up to the trade deadline. All of a sudden everyone online became a couch GM and hated everyone. It was a serious little slump. Sure, injuries to the team hurt, but they also looked so tired.

Good thing we eventually had a "get right" match vs the New Jersey Nets which was a blowout "worse than my toddlers' on formula" - and exactly what the doctor ordered. Desperately needed indeed. My goodness that was a poop show. Record stuff! Actually tho.

Heres a layout of that 6 week stretch leading into the trade deadline/allstar break:

Championship game was Dec 16. Over that month there were 18 games dec 18- jan19th - there record was 7-11. Not good!

The entire team was sluggish - it was a bad stretch of some non competitive losing basketball post NBA cup.. Before it all blew up when Brunson had that ankle injury in Sacramento.

That schedule was just brutal; a whole lot of back to back nights of games and travel. Very little rest days.

The NBA has to do something to not punish, but reward the teams who go deep into the Cup. I actually love the concept of the Cup' - it's good, competitive basketball in the midst of the season -- but the teams who perform well all are negatively effected in the long-run and experience a little hangover after.

Anyways back to the good!! BARTENDER

That Nets game baby!!!! 120-66. that kicked off a massive winning streak.

A few bad losses since - the Detroit game we were short handed - but still not a valid excuse for the no show. Similar to earlier last week when they lost vs Indiana in overtime. classic trap games getting the best of em. It happens

But all things considered.... I completely concur with my assistants "writeup". Well done!

Big moves on the trade deadline - We traded for Jose Alvardo.

"grand theft alvarado". Guy is a pitbull. He is feisty and has the sneakiest steals.

I love it.

Altho getting kicked out for fighting may prove to be more detrimental down the stretch - it is good to have some type of grit/enforcer. This team needed someone who has no problem making enemies.

That trade with Yabo Guerschen (french guy) created the cap so we can sign the young forward Jeremy Sochan from San Antonio.

Sochan -from the winter olympics ?

The team is deep. and prepped for a playoff run.

Let the boys rest during the break. Lets hit it hard for the 2nd half of the season.

Energy included

Pio
