catch up

part of me didnt want to post again. in my little irrelevant world nothing wouldv been better than a "return post" followed by a never-again-post. because even if its a show about nothing , i cant commit to the bit that hard.

listen (read) so since i last posted; the knicks are a legitimate team, the mets are an even more legitimate team, the pope died, trumps president again, a worldwide pandemic happened, elon musk wanted to livestream our gold reserves, messi plays soccer in america, napoli soccer won serie A, californians are protesting about how horrible it is to live in california, p diddy is in jail, joe biden is still alive, robots are a thing, russia and ukraine are still at war, israel is at war, shohei ohtani has a gambling addiction, the queen died, hbo changed their streaming service to MAX and now back to HBO MAX, college kids get paid for playing sports, and jeff bezos is marrying a man.

thats just the tip of the iceberg. the same iceberg that sunk the same titanic that a explorer submarine went to explore and imploded while our time apart.

and all the while, throughout this time: the jets havent changed. theyre the exact same team of losers. they still havent made the playoffs - let alone a .500 record - and continue to suck. Maybe most impressive is how theyve tried to be better. like theyve actively tried being good. its just all time status of failure.

Anyways :

knicks are right there. it was an incredible (yet frustrating) season that gave us 2 all nba nods, the clutch performaner of the year in jalen brunson, and a very powerful beat down of the previous nba champs boston celtics. And i mean a real ugly smacking around type bullying of the celtics. And no, It wasnt the knicks beating an injured celtics team. It was the Knicks delivering a dynasty-ending spanking. we were up 2-1 in the series and up 9 points in the final 3 minutes of game 4 when tatum went down. that series was ours.

but it doesnt matter because they followed that with maybe the most pathetic ECF of all time. that game 1 choke will go down in history. its enough for me to believe the basketball gods wont allow the knicks to ever get so close to the finals again.

we were ready to put a statue of Bridges game 1&2 steal and block against. the celtics outside MSG. by game 2 against indiana we were scheming ways to trade him for donte divencenso. by game 4 we were really regretting the street signs. all time curse.

onwards and upwards. - leon rose and co are continuing to stay aggressive. firing thibs was tough - but you cant help but wonder if well ever get so lucky to see a playoff run with mitch/og/brunson and co all healthy again. thibs isnt known for liking his players knees as it was a miracle we got to see this run in the first place.

So im ok with moving forward on a plan that doesnt involve brunson bailing them out game after game. it wasnt often youd sit there thinking "man thibs really had our guys ready". i mean when "mr new guy mr 5 firsts" mikal bridges suggests during the playoffs that maybe the knicks should do layup lines after halftime, well somethings amok. Between that, the game 1 collapse, and just a refusal to change - it was time to split ways.

best case scenario they bring in new coach who better manages minutes by trust the bench, and really maximizing this talent with a more offensively creative approach.

worst case scenario - i dont know. that god damn game 1 is pretty hard to beat.

mets are great. between ownership, a front office and the players - it truly feels like an amazing time to follow this team.

napoli just won serie a for the 4th time in history. and they have money to spend moving forward. Naples is the most profitable team in italy. crazy right? would never expect it to come from naples. but theyre here, theyre queer, and will be in the champions cup next year.

ill go futher into depth about these teams in the future. i just need to once again highlight that in all this time - the jets still havent accomplished anything.. will theycatch up? or keep me humble for when everything else blows up in my face?
