Quick shoutout to Rafael Devers who went SIX FOR SIX (6-6) with FOUR DOUBLES (4 2B) last night in a 7-6 win over the Indians, becoming the first player since NINETEEN HUNDRED (1900) to record a stat line like that. He needed 10 innings to collect his sixth hit but a special night for Devers who is hitting .328 (leading AL) and has a chance to win AL MVP at age 22. There are a lot of young stars in baseball today but Devers may be the best and has primarily flown under the radar because the Red Sox are a million games behind the Yankees and because he is surrounded by offensive stars like Xander Bogaerts, JD Martinez, and reigning AL MVP Mookie Betts.
You may have noticed a trend at CSB that we mostly focus on the Mets and Jets. Well I'm here to tell you that like the chameleon moving from leaf to tree, our colors are changing. Shoutouts are coming your way if you go 6 for 6 no matter where you play.
So congrats Rafael Devers on being all that is man against the Indians last night.
